Our first test of the GMC with the eight-speed comes in a 2016 Sierra 1500 Denali with the available 6.2-liter V-8, which sets up a neat comparisonwe tested a nearly identical 2014. Maybe one day I'll install 4.10's, and at that point I would give AFM another try.\\ This week, we're featuring the HUNTER METALLIC 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Crew Cab with our biggest lift installed: a 3.5-inch. I don't think I get any benefit from the AFM with the 305's and 3.23s. I plan on having the AFM turned off when I tune in a couple weeks anyway. The intake is much louder than the exhaust in the cab, but that could be because I ran the tailpipe straight out underneath the rear bumper. There is a little tone difference when switching from V4 to V8 when accelerating, but that's it. A good, deep tone when driving and accelerating, but nothing loud in the cab or drone. I called a few shops and the only solution I found was a universal 4" tailpipe kit from a 2500HD truck. However, I did not realize that no one in the state of Arkansas can bend 3.5" pipe, so I had to find a way around it. And when it comes to the capability on which GMC’s reputation was forged, Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD models including Sierra Denali HD are offered with the Duramax 6.6L turbo-diesel and Allison 1000 six-speed transmission, a proven powertrain combination enabling a maximum trailering rating of up to 23,200 pounds (10,523 kg). I ordered a 22" 3.5" in/out Magnaflow off Amazon, then called around for someone to install it. Engine light stayed on for the next 200 miles but I had full power. ![]() Went to the nearest gas station and bought a thing of DEF. Sounds like what a big 6.2 should sound likeĪlso got exhaust installed. In the middle of nowhere Wyoming the engine light came on and I was speed limited to about 60mph as I recall. Research, compare, and save listings, or contact sellers directly from 102 2015 Sierra 2500 models nationwide. However, I think it was worth it, and you get used to the sound quickly.
